Jessica and Stewart are another set of soon-to-be newlyweds that learned about my work through a past bride and groom. I was lucky enough to be sat for dinner with these two at Kristin and Max’s wedding last winter. At the time they were doing the long-distance relationship thing…since then Stewart has made the big move from Vancouver to Edmonton, they’ve got engaged and are now gearing up for a wedding here in Canmore next month. The morning of this shoot was nothing but frigid, about -25C. They were such troopers…and at the end of the day though, I do have to admit that I just love the colors that show up in photos at that absolutely ridiculous temperature.

I’m so glad that Jessica found my little website through one of her old co-workers, Luke of Luke & Kathryn who were married last October in Edmonton. Jessica and Conor are now planning small spring wedding at the beautifully cozy Post Hotel in Lake Louise. These two made a quick little trip out to Canmore the weekend before I headed off to Australia for some snowy engagement photos…hopefully a nice contrast to the weather we’ll see for their June wedding! These two nailed it in the winter wardrobe department.

They suggested we head over to one of their favorite mountain watering holes, the Iron Goat for a post photo shoot beer – the way to my heart. It was so great to get to know you two! See you in June.

MEL+MATT’S FAMILY.

In the coming weeks you’re going to have the privilege to meet a whole bunch of people from my past, old friends who are all grown up and moving forward. It’s happening, all these great individuals from that time I’ve often referred to as the best days of my life are getting married and having kids. It’s pretty cool for me to see it all from the backside of my trusty camera.

Up first is Melissa and her fiance Matt. I first met Mel when I was 18 and had just moved out to Banff. She was seeing one of the guys in the room up the hall and would often come to visit. That was nearly ten years ago [WOW.] and now she’s building a brand new house and planning a wedding to a special guy named Matt here in Canmore this spring. Matt brought along his three kids and his parents the afternoon we did photos.

The twins just adore Mel.
