JULIE+BRYAN
12 May 2012Julie and Bryan were married on the last weekend of April. It was an absolutely perfect April day for a wedding in the Rockies…all thanks to a mutual friend, a guy named Claude. Julie and Bryan had hung out in similar circles for years but never really met, somehow though Claude had a feeling they just might hit it off. Jules brushed it off at first, but eventually agreed to meet up with this Bryan guy the next time she was back in town. Well sure enough, Claude was right…after a couple quick nights of hanging out he got a call from Jules: “I’m going to marry him.”
And that she did. Congrats guys!

Seriously, JULES!

Julie worked for over a year working on the design for the big day. With the help of Julianne the rustic ballroom at Silvertip was decked out just beautifully. It was my first time working with Julianne since she launched her company. We had a collaborated a couple times back in 2011 when she was interning with my good friend Calladra from Cherry Tree Occasions. Well, Julianne did a top-notch job of managing Julie & Bryan’s day! I’m excited to see where her business goes in the coming years.

Jules and her grandma worked for over a year knitting a set of homemade slippers for every single guest! These cozy little guys were such a hit on the dancefloor with the ladies who had been wearing heels all day long.

Adam came along to help out in the photobooth…I think he had a bit of fun.

MEL+MATT. A WEDDING IN CANMORE.
23 Apr 2012Earlier this winter I introduced you to Mel and Matt. Last week they tied the knot at the gorgeous Grand Rockies Resort. It was a snowy spring day, but I have to say that those mushy spring storms often make for the prettiest photos around here. These two have just returned from a Florida honeymoon and get possession of their brand new Calgary home this week…so many big, happy changes for these guys!

The first look!

Mel’s only request…a stop at the local fire hall.

Mel was all about the ‘first looks’ …here she is seeing her dad for the first time on her wedding day.

The cocktail reception in the Grande Rockies’ swanky penthouse was perfectly casual…lots of wine, a table full of nibbles and standing room only.

JESSICA+STEWART
4 Apr 2012Jessica and Stewart were wed on a beautiful spring day, quite a nice contrast to their frigid engagement photos back in January. As I prepare this sneak peek for the newlyweds, we are in the midst of a winter storm warning here in the Bow Valley. After days like theirs, it feels as though maybe, just maybe we’re out of the woods for the winter season, it seems like it’s time to put away the Sorels, dig out the bikes and summer dresses. Sure enough, more snow! And it likely won’t be the last of it..that said, you’ll be able to find me up at the ski hill bright and early tomorrow morning!
These two have family and friends scattered all the way from east coast to west. Because they have settled out in Edmonton, they decided to host their wedding here in the Rockies to showcase the iconic landscape to their guests from far and wide.
First stop: Stew’s favorite, the Bagel Co. on main street for a hearty boys breakfast.

THE shoes!

Stephanie Roy always does a great job of hair and make-up.

I just love the great jacket that Jess picked up from Anthropologie…a warm and stylish cover-up is a must for spring and winter brides in this part of the world.

Peter’s Photo…as always – a huge thank you to Peter for coming along to shoot with me!

The dinner party was hosted up at Silvertip in the Pavillion.

The couple hired Jennifer Bergman to help them out with the design in the rustic ballroom. The mix of lush linens, exposed timber, fresh-cut flowers in mason jars and mahogany Chivari chairs worked so well!

There were SO many hilarious and fun dance floor photos…here are just a few.
