My job is pretty much the best…hanging out with awesome people in a beautiful corner of the world as they let me take a little peek into their life to tell their story during some of the happiest, most monumental seasons of their lives. The only thing that really tops it is when these awesome people are old friends.
Jen and I met here in the mountains when we were both young dirtbags from the prairies. It was during these years that, despite my dirtbaggedness, I made some of the best, most authentic, like-minded and long-lasting friends of my life.
Jen was an old pro with one ski season under her belt and I was a rookie when we became neighbours and good buds shortly after. At the end of the winter, along with another friend we came up with the grand scheme to move out east to Halifax for the summer while we waited for the next ski season to kick off. After that second winter we drifted our own ways for a few years. And then Facebook came on the scene…we reconnected and learned that we had both headed off to college to study photography; me in Victoria and her in Toronto.
Once I moved back to Canmore in 2009, no longer dirtbags, Jen and I started seeing much more of each other. She was one of my most enthusiastic cheerleaders throughout pregnancy. I was soooo excited to learn of her and Randal’s happy news this fall. Jen, next time I see you you’re going to be a MOTHER! This kiddo is going to be so loved. And probably kind of a dirtbag for a few years
Sara knew that her longtime boyfriend, Erik had planned a photo shoot in Lake Louise while they were on holidays earlier this month. She didn’t know, however, that she would be heading home with a FIANCE! I kinda love being part of sneaky secrets like this.
Eric got right down to business.
There was a sizeable avalanche at the end of the lake while we were shooting!
Congrats you guys! Happy wedding planning.
It was such a treat to photograph little Logan in his bright and beautiful Canmore home. This little guy was just shy of two weeks on a sunny, snowy morning.
Isabella has transitioned to her new roll as big sister very well!
This little guy slept for SIX HOURS the night before I arrived [lucky mama!] so he was wide awake, super alert and pulling tons of adorable faces for the camera.
I love baby yawns.
Finally a deep sleep for those must-have super-squishy peaceful newborn shots.
