Pat and Alex were married the day following the best blizzard I’ve seen hit the Bow Valley in many years. It also happened to be one of the chillest days we’ve had in some time as well…even with the extreme temperatures it was such a perfect day. There’s no better place in Canmore for an intimate cozy winter wedding than the Bear and Bison Inn.
Second shooter: Lindsay Ross
Pat has so much man-style. He gave his dad a brother a bow-tie lesson.
Alex’s dress came from Frocks in Calgary and it was PERFECT on her. Seriously, this dress was made for this girl.
First look! It was a good one.
The bouquet including magpie feathers [Alex's favourite bird!] was made by a friend.
I don’t know what more you could hope for when planning a winter wedding…besides, maybe an extra 10-15C on the thermometer!
It was SO cold…but these guys were total troopers.
Before the ceremony, they shared their vows privately in a little nook back at the Inn.
Minus a bazillion degrees Celsius and they still settled on an outdoor ceremony…I love winter couples!
Following the ceremony there was some nibbles, mingling and speeches inside the cozy Inn for their closest friends and family.
The newlyweds had rad brand new Chucks for the party.
…after speeches wrapped up, everyone headed downtown to the Miner’s Hall where all their friends were waiting for the festivities to kick off.
…Pat had kind of been the emotional one all day…but when the walked in, I think it all finally hit Alex.
A sure sign of a very chilly winter wedding in the mountains…
As always, my friend and amazzzzing second shooter, Lindsay, did a top-notch job shooting along side me. Lindsay, you are great! Sooo many of these photos are by her…I can’t even keep track anymore.
