ITALY. WEEK 4.13/05/2013
This is a sad, sad post. Here are the images from my final week in Italy. I’ve been hanging on for a while now, but I suppose my vacation truly is over. We explored Cinque Terre and Venice…and revisited all our favorite spots around Florence.
I loved the colorful waterfront of Porto Venere.
Pasta for window coverings. Oh Italy.
Thanks to Melissa‘s friend Gio for the tour!
We hopped on a boat to get us to the 5th of the five villages that make up Cinque Terre, Monterrosso.
Stacey & I hiked from Monterrosso to Vernazza…so glad we did!
Our next day trip was to Venice. Throughout the whole month, we always had no problem arriving at the train station just a few minutes before the scheduled departure to purchase a ticket for the next train to our destination. Well this day, the first train to Venice was sold out. As much as I would have loved an extra hour in Venice, this gave us a great opportunity to shoot the Firenze Stazione Santa Maria Novella…this place had become a pretty huge part of our month in Italy, so I am grateful for the chance to capture it on a busy morning.
Oh Italian leather. I had no idea I would become so infatuated with the handbags, boots, sandals, jackets, shoes, backpacks, belts, wallets and bracelets this country had to offer.
Venice really was everything I’d hoped it would be, truly a highlight of the whole month for me! In fact, my entire stay in Italy was all I hoped it possibly could have been. I just can’t say enough great things about the whole experience – the colorful streets, my amazing travel buddies, the history, the fashion, the weather, the photogenic old Italian men, the stunning coastlines, the ridiculous food, the delicious and hilarity-inducing wine…
