ITALY. WEEK 1.08/04/2013
The first seven days and nights here in beautiful Firenze have been just great. As much as I am known to be a tad long-winded from time-to-time, this is a photo blog…so I’ll let the images do the talking, I’d say they tell a decent story.
This is right around the corner from our apartment. Everyone here rides a bike. And they are all adorable.
Yes, of course I bought brand new Italian leather boots on day 1. What was I even thinking bringing boots all the way from Canada?
My first Euro train ride! We ventured to the nearby town of Arezzo for an unreal antique fair, recommended to us by the lovely Mara of Neither Snow. Mara and her husband are living in Florence for the year. LUCKY.
Luckily for my quickly depleting Euro pocketbook, I didn’t entertain the idea of outfitting our home in Italian antiques. Well not seriously, anyhow.
It was my birthday. I think 29 might be a pretty good year.
We’ve seen some pretty great Florentine skies already.
And this is the storefront of Mara’s Italian best friend, Betty’s shop And Company…so cute, and all these gals have been so helpful and welcoming to us! There is nothing better than getting some solid local [ENGLISH SPEAKING!] tips in the first few days in a new city.
