DANCE YOURSELF CLEAN.
30 Nov 2011Since returning to the Bow Valley a couple years ago, one of the things we’ve come to look forward to most each fall is the Banff Mountain Film Festival. This year, there was a particular ski movie playing at the Snow Show [our very favorite night of the festival!] that stood out: Sherpa Cinema’s All.I.Can. The entire film was just incredible, but there was one particular clip that seriously blew my mind.
I came home from the show and just had to relive this ridiculously unconventional ski line. I immediately opened up Google and typed in a bunch of related keywords, to my extreme disappointment, nothing came up. I decided I would gift the entire video to some lucky member of my family for Christmas so I could enjoy the sequence again. Just today, I was so happy to see a bunch of my ski enthusiast buddies posting this life-changing video on Facebook. The Sherpas were overwhelmed with the response to the segment so they opted to release for the world wide web to enjoy. I felt it necessary to share.
[DISCLAIMER: this clip is likely not life-changing to the average part of the population. Girls such as myself who have a heck of a soft spot for cute Kootenay towns, LCD Soundsystem, snow sports and insanely brilliant cinemotography, prepare for your life to be changed.]
Here is a bit of the behind the scenes lowdown of how this scene came to life.

KENDALL+AARON.
29 Nov 2011Every fall I start to see girls out and about with awesome boots. It always becomes my purpose in life to find myself a pair of excellent tall boots for the chilly months that lie ahead. We live in a part of the world where winter is a reality for about 7 months, I figure I may as well make the best of it; this includes a great cold-weather wardrobe! Well, Kendall had the greatest set of tall black boots. As soon as I saw them I wanted a pair for myself.
This duo is set to wed in January at the beautiful Banff Springs Hotel. After getting a taste of their personal style, I’m quite interested to see how they’ve planned to deck out the historic Mount Stephen Hall.
Good luck with the last few weeks of wedding planning!

ERIN+TYRELL
27 Nov 2011Much earlier this year, Weddings in Alberta hosted a contest; a whole month of giveaways. I donated a portrait session as one of the daily prizes. The two you see below, Erin & Tyrell, were the winners. They came out to Canmore on a beautifully brisk, sunny morning to redeem their photo shoot.
